Stretching
from the shores of Lake Erie, across the eastern continental divide, to
the edges of the Allegheny Mountains, in Western New York lies some
2500 miles of back road cycling. The Seaway Trail ( www.seawaytrail.com
) now designated a National Scenic Byway, Adventure Cycling’s ( www.adventurecycling.org
) Northern Tier Route and newest Freedom Trail , and NY Bike
Route 17, all criss-cross through Chautauqua County’s Lake Shore
Region.
Cultural
diversity describes the region best, as you will experience simple life
through Amish Country where traffic is four-legged, strawberries are
picked fresh and blackberry pies are bought still warm. Be sure
to visit Dart Airpark Saturday’s for the Flea Market, Farmer’s Market
and watch hand gliders soar. Music abounds summer long from the
Fredonia Opera House, Mayville’s Blue Grass Festival, Chautauqua
Institute, and Bemis Point’s floating band-stand. Explore the
region’s resources at www.tourchautauqua.com
The resources are far too numerous to list here, but here are some of
my picks for Attraction, Events, Lodging, and Dinning.
If
you have a group of 10 or more cyclists and interested in a full

dinning, and lodging packages for both weekends and midweek. We will
